I Pressed Record

Human Soundtracks

Side A. Music Side B. Masterpiece

It starts with a photograph — a full-frame digital capture of a vintage cassette tape. From there, the story becomes yours.

I invite you to dig deep into your nostalgic memory bank and reconnect with the music that shaped your life. Think road trip anthems, breakup soundtracks, angry songs, or the mixtape that defined your first love. Whatever it is, you give it a name — your mixtape.

Write your title in your own handwriting, with a black sharpie on white paper, and send a quick photo to chadlyonsstudio@gmail.com. From that, I design and create a minimalist cassette-inspired artwork — your words transformed into a piece of fine art.

Each print is produced on museum-quality paper with archival inks rated for 80+ years, signed by the artist, and delivered within about three weeks.

More than a print, it’s a time capsule: your music, your memories, your mixtape — forever preserved on your wall.

The Idea:
Before playlists and Spotify, people used cassette tapes to make mixtapes — personal music collections for road trips, breakups, crushes, or just showing off your taste. They’d name the tape, usually in their own handwriting, and it became a time capsule of who they were.

Let’s Get Started:

Now I’m taking that old-school idea and turning it into wall art. Here’s how you join in:

1. Think of a Title
Come up with the perfect name for your “mixtape.” It could be anything:

Examples:
“Songs That Got Me Through College”

“Crying in the Drive-Thru”

“Angry Gym Bangers”

“Love Songs for Nobody”

“Side A: Life / Side B: Regret”

2. Write It Down
Grab a piece of white paper and a marker. Write the title in your own handwriting — messy, clean, doodly — it doesn’t matter. YOUR handwriting becomes part of the art!

3. Snap & Send
With your mobile phone, take a straight down photo of your paper and email it to chadlyonsstudio@gmail.com - Please include your name and shipping address in the body of the email. That’s it.

4. Check Out

Check Out, fill out form & add to cart.

5. Get the Art
I’ll design your cassette print with your title, print it on museum-quality paper with archival inks, sign it, and ship it to you. In about 3 weeks, your mixtape is on your wall — forever.

Example:

This piece was created as a tribute to the road trip my wife, Joni and I took from San Diego to Las Vegas to get married. It’s inspired by the playlist that carried us through the desert—our own personal mixtape filled with the songs that shaped us, moved us, and became the soundtrack of our story. Every track held a memory, every mile held a moment, and together they built the rhythm of that unforgettable journey. Now, it will always have a place on our wall.
